The Thalyndor Family

Sir Silvanus Thalyndor

Viscount of Denerian
Viscount of Denerian

Silvanus was born into a noble family on the outskirts of the Celene. Thus, he was able to witness first-hand the dangers that plagued both his people and the nearby human population. He wondered constantly why the two races could not exist in peace, but the response was always, "You'll understand when you're older." The young elf matured, but still did not comprehend the reason for the needless divide. Nevertheless, he saw the need for action and thus enlisted in the army in hopes of fighting back the dangers. Over a period of decades, Silvanus became a great knight and led his people to countless victories against the monstrous hordes. As a reward for his faithful service, Queen Yolande made him a Viscount of Denerian, a city-state not far from the capital of Enstad… all the better for him to advise her from. Silvanus debated for days whether he could honorably work for a monarch whose policies he so strongly opposed when an old friend approached him. Lord Arathil, as he was called, told the newly christened viscount of an organization called the Knights of Luna - a group of like-minded countrymen who hoped to one day coax Yolande into the world politics of the Flaeness. Realizing the great opportunity at his disposal, he accepted the offer and moved his fiancee to a manor house in Enstad. A few decades later, he would become father to two intelligent and courageous children. While his blade has not drawn blood in some time, Silvanus is still a capable soldier, with his political adroitness following in a close second. He hopes to influence his queen to allow Celene to move out of the darkness and into the light.

Lady Morgana Thalyndor

Angel of Blades
Angel of Blades

Morgana Thalyndor nee Tamlyranth was born in the city of Enstad to the Duke of Vyshaan and his wife. Vyshaan was practically monster-infested, which compelled the duke to ensconce his family in the elven capital. When both of her parents were assassinated, however, Morgana felt that the safest place to be was her ancestral homeland. With her trusty rapier and her friend Velle Tura at her side, she took the long journey back to Vyshaan. When she got there, the dukedom was in pretty terrible shape. With the help of her friend and a knight from an adjacent dukedom, Silvanus Thalyndor, the trio eradicated the monsters with ease. Realizing what an efficient squad they made, the team of elven warriors traveled all over the Celene (and a few covert forays outside of it) crushing those that would threaten the peace of their nation. It was during these decades of adventuring that she received her title, Angel of Blades. She and Silvanus fell in love and were eventually married. While they still enjoyed the thrill of battle, Morgana also wanted to start a family one day. When her husband received an offer to relocate to Enstad, she begged him to accept it. A decade later, she gave birth to her eldest son, Lucian and two decades later, to her daughter Mephista. She did not have the time to train her children in the art of war, so she sent her daughter to train under her dear friend, Velle Tura. Morgana is of two minds regarding her daughter's sojourn outside of the Celene, afraid for her safety while simultaneously proud of her obstinacy.

Lucian Thalyndor

Squire to Lord Arathil
Squire to Lord Arathil

Lucian is the eldest child of Silvanus and Morgana. Like his father, he aspires to one day become a great knight, defending the Celene from foreign invaders… both monstrous and human. Unlike the other members of his family, he is a strong believer in elven superiority. In the unlikely event Yolande should ever enter on the world stage, it should be on her terms. Ironically, he is a squire to Lord Arathil, prominent member of the secret society known as the Knights of Luna. He probably won't take the news well, and when he inherits the Viscounty (likely along with his father's advisory position), Lucian will have the power to make his will into international and domestic policy. This does not bode well for the solvency of the Knights of Luna…
