Garrick Elberton
Awwwwwwww...
Awwwwwwww…

Garrick was born to parents Fiona Elberton and Tharylion Fallensky in the idyllic community of Hommlet. Although his conception was not fully planned, he came into a warm and loving environment nevertheless. Even his father, an expert tracker from the Celene, did not resent the young boy's intrusion into his life. The elf settled in Hommlet, incurring the umbrage of Narrish and Corl. However, unlike others of elven blood in the town, Tharylion did not take the duo's abuse lying down. He would try to sandbag the teamsters' business at every opportunity and successfully organized several boycotts. A flurry of fights, threats and visits from Elmo ensued. After two years, Fiona finally put her foot down and told her love that he would have to let the matter drop before he put his family in greater danger. Tharylion acquiesced and the trio lived in relative harmony until an incursion of goblins attacked the town in 593 CY. Having trained for decades in battling these repugnant creatures, Tharylion was the first to ride out into battle with Elmo and Haunor at his side. The trio fought valiantly with the rest of the town's militia, however the elf was cut down when one of the cowardly goblins ambushed him from behind. At the first opportunity, Elmo rushed him to Jennithar, but by then it was too late. Garrick was particularly distraught at his father's demise, unable to fully understand why his father was never never coming back. He became increasingly angry and prone to lash out at others, leading fellow citizens to believe he was simply a troublemaker. Garrick did little to break this stereotype, as he began lying and stealing small items from other children. Elmo did his best to be there for the young boy at his mother's behest, but even he could not mend his broken heart. Fiona was uncertain what else to do with Garrick; no one was willing to look after him while she was at work. One day, she plunked him down in a library chair and just… left. Realizing that his mother was never going to come back either, the young boy burst into tears, drawing the attention of the local librarian. Tinivias managed to calm the boy down, all the while suppressing his frustration at his mother. The two got to talking and Garrick began asking some rather pointed questions about death and the afterlife. The librarian offered him an illustrated book on Pelor, which the half-elf accepted and immediately threw across the room. Through his tears, the brunet pleaded for information on how he could bring his father back from the dead. Tinivias leafed through his theological material for adults and began reading from a book that described the religion of Corellon Larethian, Tharylion's deity of choice. Knowing that his father was in a better place did provide some comfort, but he still wanted to save his father. With a hearty laugh, Tinivias read from various religious texts until the boy nodded off. When Fiona returned from her errands, Garrick was fast asleep in an armchair and the librarian had a few harsh words for her… along with more than a couple of threats. The blond laughed off his warnings, until three years later, Tinivias taught her a lesson. Garrick lied to his mother, claiming that the scheme had been his idea. Thanks to his sacrifice, the librarian was no longer labeled a deviant, but a fully integrated member of the community.

A few weeks ago, Garrick encountered a strange creature who looked a lot like him. The impish rogue stole his mother's tarts and left him with the blame. While the brunet is not a vengeful boy, he would very much like to convince his mother that he does not have an imaginary friend.

The story of how Garrick's parents met begins with a brash young elf tracking a band of hobgoblin raiders by himself. Tharylion hunted them for miles, not even noticing when he left the Celene and began to trespass on human lands. He happened upon several merchants that had being attacked by the very band he chased. While he attempted to provide aid to the survivors, the captain of the guard intercepted him, blades drawn. The elf pleaded his innocence, but Elmo observed that the stranger was carrying wicked looking blades and smeared with blood. Tharylion explained that he admired the goblinoid craftsmanship and he attempted to save the merchants, not kill them. Elmo would hear none of it and dragged him before the lords of the town. The interrogation rapidly deteriorated until a blond woman burst into the room, her clothes ragged and covered with blood. Her name was Fiona Elberton and she had been traveling with her fellow merchants when the hobgoblins ambushed them. By the will of Pelor, she had managed to run away while the raiders were distracted by an elf on horseback. Tharylion was released with Rufus and Burne's apologies, and Fiona invited him back to her house in gratitude. Although the two were deeply in love, Fiona and Tharylion were never married.
